Paper airplanes give kids something to do at your table, and the contest, passport, and bookmarks send families home with your unit’s name, your meeting night, and a QR code.
- Type your unit name on the subordinate line. It goes under the CAP logo on every sheet.
- Add your meeting day, time, and place. They print on the airplane’s body, the passport, and the bookmarks, and the next brand tool you open remembers them.
- Paste your unit’s web page as the QR code link, or keep the national site.
- Pick a sheet to see it in the preview, and pick Letter or A4 and how much ink to use.
- Download that sheet, or Download All for a ZIP with one PDF per sheet. Print at 100% (actual size).
Your file is named for your unit, the sheet, and the paper, such as Texas-Wing_outreach-printables_booth-passport_letter.pdf, so it’s easy to find in your downloads.
- Fold one of each airplane before the event, so kids can see what they’re making. Start younger kids on the Wide Glider.
- Airplanes fold and fly best on plain copy paper. Card stock is too stiff for airplanes, but it’s right for signs, bookmarks, and winner cards.
- Mark off a flying lane away from walkways, and ask kids to throw away from faces.
- For a contest, tape the launch line sign at one end of the lane and the distance markers along one side.
- Schools and libraries often print in black and white. Pick Outline only, and the sheets print as clean line art with no big blocks of ink.
- Test the QR code with your phone before you print a stack.
- Anything sold with CAP logos or wordmarks needs a trademark license. Talk to the brand team before you order merchandise for resale.
