Banner and sign guidance

This tool places your subordinate graphic on a banner, table cover, or sign at the size it prints, with the logo and text kept clear of the edges.

  1. Pick the product and size, or enter a custom size from your vendor’s template.
  2. Type your unit name on the subordinate line. Then fill in the words for your banner or sign.
  3. Choose the colors, logo size, and bleed your vendor asks for.
  4. Add an approved emblem, or upload one.
  5. Check both the mockup and the print layout, then download a PDF for your vendor or your printer.

Your file is named for your unit and this tool, such as TX-388_tablecloth_6ft.pdf, so it’s easy to find in your downloads.

  • Check your vendor’s template. Sizes and tablecloth drops vary, so match the finished size and bleed they list, or use Custom size.
  • Keep everything inside the safe area, the dashed line in Print layout. Grommets and seams sit outside it.
  • The CAP logo and your text are vector. Emblems are images, so use the largest file you have; the preview warns you when one is too small to print sharp.
  • Anything sold with CAP logos or wordmarks needs a trademark license. Talk to the brand team before you order merchandise for resale.
  • Ask your vendor for a proof, and check it before production.
  • Safety signs from this tool don’t replace the signs an airport, range, or OSHA requires. Post those too.
  • Partner logos need the partner’s permission. The sponsor layout keeps them below a divider, smaller than the CAP logo and apart from CAP marks.

Pick what you’re making. Banner sizes read height by width.

Details

Enter the subordinate entity or directorate name exactly as it should appear.

A website, event name, or recruiting line works well. Keep it short so it reads from across the room.

Look

Navy is the design system’s Ink. CAP Blue stays a logo color.

Choose no background when the vendor prints on colored fabric or vinyl; the file then holds only the logo and text. For signs you print in the office, blue on white saves toner and prints cleanly.

Use the bleed your vendor asks for. Bleed carries the background past the cut line so no white edge shows.

Emblem

Choose a secondary emblem or upload an approved graphic. If you wish to have your emblem added, email a high-quality transparent file to Maj. Roman Vitanza.

Upload your own secondary graphic

Only use approved emblematics. Upload the largest version you have; it prints at that resolution.

Use this for a one-color emblem, such as a line-art version that should print white on navy. A full-color emblem turns into a solid shape, so leave it off for those.
